About Tropical Diseases

Tropical Diseases are responsible for millions of death, especially in the Tropical regions of the World and one-sixth of the world population is infected with Neglected Tropical Diseases and additional two billion are at risk. Approximately half of the world population is under the risk of being exposed to infection with Tropical Diseases causing Micro-organisms.

Many of the major tropical disease include Buruli-ulcer, Chagas Diseases, Dengue, Malaria, typhoid, yellow fever, and many others. These diseases mainly are spread in the region of Africa, Asia and western pacific. Various means for the spread of these diseases are infections (Bacterial, Viral and fungal). Most case affect subtropical region except Japan, China and Australia. Majority of cases are in western and central Africa. As per the projection of various tropical medicine journals and the WHO these diseases have been reported to affects most than 33 countries in the region of Africa and western Asia.

Medical health care providers, doctors, researchers, scientist and patients consider the prevention of these diseases as an essential requirement to improve the general health status of the people in the subtropical regions and developing countries. According to various tropical medicine journals and data from various Tropical Medicine societies more than 1 Billion people-one sixth of the world population is affected by Neglected Tropical Diseases. Realizing this situation and keeping in mind the need to start and promote various initiative and potential researches; Conference Series is set to organize 6th International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases to be held during January 28-29, 2019 at Barcelona, Spain.

Sessions and Tracks

Tropical Medicine

With the high incidence rate of Infectious Diseases across the Tropical region there is more and more requirement of Medicine and new preventive measure especially in the under developed countries. According to a report published in highly esteemed journal, more than a billion people – one-sixth of the world’s population are suffering from Tropical Diseases. Thus Tropical Diseases 2019 would like to invite all the researchers and scientists from the field of epidemiology, virologists, parasitologists, logisticians., microbiologists, and public health.

Generally Tropical Diseases environ all diseases that occurs absolutely and predominantly in tropical regions. Often this term is taken to refer many infectious diseases like malaria, leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, Chagas disease, African trypanosomiasis, dengue etc which thrive in hot and humid conditions

Parasitology

Parasitology is the study of Parasites, their respective host and the relation between them. This Scientific discipline deals with biology of parasites and parasitic diseases which includes the distribution, physiology, molecular biology, microbiology, dermatology, ecology, evolution and clinical aspects of parasites.

In general Parasitology can be referred as study of relationship between parasites and their hosts. The reason to include this session in the Conference is the fact various parasites are the causative organism for Infectious Diseases thus this field become an important part to study regarding Infectious Diseases.

Infectious Diseases

The Infectious Diseases are the diseases which are caused by pathogenic microorganism such as virus, bacteria, parasites; fungi come under the category of Infectious. Another category is Zoonotic diseases which are the diseases that affect animals but also infects when transmitted to humans. These diseases are transmissible from one person to another. According to a report in today’s world more than half a billion people are affected with Communicable diseases. The topic includes various kind of infection depending on the diseases causing agents and arboviral diseases.

Neglected Tropical Diseases

It has been more than a decade ago that the concept of Neglected Tropical Diseases came into picture and has been recognized as a valid way to classify diseases that affect the poorest individuals. A sizeable ‘growth has been took place in control and elimination of these diseases through a continued support of several organizations.

These are the Diseases which are abundant in tropical Region and mainly affecting the world’s poorest population and mostly in the developing countries. As they affects poor people they remain unnoticed, thus are called as “Neglected”. These diseases does not include the major 3 Infectious i.e. AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria. There are 13 diseases included under this category some of which are dengue, rabies, Chagas diseases, Buruli ulcer.

Other Major Diseases

Apart from Neglected Tropical Diseases, The other major diseases include Malaria and Ebola, Onchocerciasis and Schistosomiasi Dengue and Chikungunya, Dracunculiasis (guinea-worm disease) and Leishmaniasis.

The BIG THREE: This includes the AIDS, Tuberculosis, malaria having affected the highest number of people till now. Till now TB has infected nearly one-third of the world’s population, same is the number in the case of the other two. Sexually Transmitted Infection includes various diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhoea, Chlamydial Infection and bacterial vaginitis.

Other Major Diseases like AIDS and Malnutrition contributing to an increase in Tuberculosis Cases. Outbreak of Polio and cholera is rapidly spreading in many parts of the world.

Tropical Medicine and Various other Medicine

Include various drugs clinical trials and various Bioethics issues. One major topic is Travel Medicine which deals with the health issues of various international travellers. An estimated of about 80 million people travel from developed to developing countries. Specific diseases affecting international traveller are Yellow Fever, Meningitis and Malaria. Main focus under this is the vaccination and the 6 I’s which are: Insects, Ingestions, Indiscretion, Injuries, Immersions, insurance. Biomedical Science is the applied science combination of both natural and formal science that are used in field of health and Public Health. It generally concentrates on how cell, organs and system function in our body. These include various topics such as molecular biology, vector biology, Immunology and vaccinology

Clinical Tropical Medicine

Clinical Tropical Medicine is a proliferating area of healthcare in both developed and developing countries. This deals primarily with the practice and study of medicine based on the direct examination of the patient.

This field include various drugs clinical trials and various Bioethics issues.

Genetics and Multi System Diseases

Multisystem disease which affects skin, joints, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. Voice in the wilderness. The clinical manifestations of legionellosis range from no symptoms to acute atypical pneumonia and multisystem disease. Various Multi system disorder include coronary artery disease in patients with rheumatologic diseases  Rheumatoid arthritis Systemic lupus erythematosus Antiphospholipid syndrome Neonatal lupus  Systemic sclerosis  Pulmonary hypertension and connective tissue diseases  Polymyositis and dermatomyositis  Mixed connective tissue disease Sjögren's syndrome, Takayasu arteritis, Giant cell (temporal) arteritis,  Kawasaki disease,  Small and medium-vessel vasculitis, Small vessel vasculitis, Ankylosing spondylitis, Marfan syndrome  EhlersDanlos syndrome  Rheumatic drug therapy.

This include various research and trial measure and application in the field of genetics so that they can helpful in the Treatment for Tropical Medicine, some of the application that can be considered useful are r-DNA technology. Manufacturing of various drugs and vaccine through the use of r-DNA technology. Treatment of various diseases that are hereditary and other diseases treatment at genetic level. Multi system diseases affects skin joints and gastro-intestinal tract. The diseases coronial-artery diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, pulmonary hypertension.

Tropical Diseases in Animals

Many pathogens (e.g., the bacterium that causes anthrax) are able to live outside the animal’s body until conditions occur that are favourable for entering and infecting it by causing Infectious diseases to them. Pathogens enter the body in various ways by penetrating the skin or an eye, by being eaten with food, or by being breathed into the lungs. After their entry into a host, pathogens actively multiply and produce disease by interfering with the functions of specific organs or tissues of the host. Table 3 lists some infectious and parasitic diseases of animals and the causative agents.

Many of the organism, bacteria and viruses that cause tropical diseases’ among the world’s poorest people/region also infect livestock and other animals, while related species cause infectious diseases that are – for now, at least – confined to the animal kingdom. These diseases worsen the impact of NTDs on people but on the other hand provide opportunities for developing new approaches to tackle human diseases. The main diseases concerned among Animal are African trypanosomiasis and Chagas Diseases and their being the cattle including Cows.

Immunology

Immunology is the study of the immune system. The immune system is how all animals, including humans, protect themselves against diseases. The study of diseases caused by disorders of the immune system is clinical immunology. The disorders of the immune system fall into two broad categories:

Immunodeficiency, in this immune system fails to provide an adequate response.

Autoimmunity, in this immune system attacks its own host's body.

This is  branch of biology which covers the study of immune system among organisms. The immune system has developed a variety of approaches to controlling viral and bacterial infection, which range from direct killing of pathogen to elaborating cytokines that inhibit replication. It describes how body copes with bacterial, viral and parasitic infection.

Objective :The Objective of Tropical Diseases Conference is to encourage various healthcare professionals, related to the field of Tropical Medicine and medical educators, patients and their family members to define methods for incorporating and writing their research , humanities, and the arts of  medical education, patient and self-care, professional development schemes.
